Every night you play becomes a chapter.
Make your own Chronicle
Install a small addon, play World of Warcraft the way you always do, and drop one file here. You get a chapter of your character's book, written from what actually happened, in the voice you choose.
How it works
- Install the Rambleon addon Download the Rambleon zip, unzip it, and copy the
addon/Rambleonfolder into your game'sInterface/AddOnsfolder. Built for World of Warcraft: Forever (the_classic_beta_install). Open source, MIT, by realworldbuilder. - Play. Log out. The addon quietly remembers the night: places, quests, levels, company, your
/ramble noteremarks. Logging out is the save; the file is only written then. - Drop the file here It lives at
/Applications/World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/WTF/Account/<your account>/<realm>/<Character>/SavedVariables/Rambleon.lua
on a Mac, orC:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\WTF\Account\<your account>\<realm>\<Character>\SavedVariables\Rambleon.lua
on Windows. Pick a night and a voice, and the chapter is written in about a minute.
What a chapter reads like
At Lake Al'Ameth he found the work turned strange and solitary — timberlings, one after another, seeds and sprouts to be gathered from creatures that should not, by any right, have walked. He wrote it down himself, plain as the water: "alone at the lake slayin timberlings".
From Chapter 1 of a real journal. Nothing in a chapter is invented; the grandeur is in the telling.
Three voices
Want the whole book, nightly, with your screenshots woven in? That is what The Chronicle of Cassidy is. The hosted version of that is next.
